Hypnotherapy

Through deep inner relaxation, hypnotherapy allows access to the subconscious mind and long established "ways of being." All of life's experiences and influences are stored there; your values, systems of belief, and patterns of behavior. What you believe about yourself, and the world around you, directly affects your behavior, and hence the results that manifest for you in all areas of life - your relationships, your health, your success in various areas. The "power" of your mind rests in your subconscious "programming". Thus, shifts that you wish to make in your behavior (your life) require affecting this inner programming. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool to help you engage your innate power, to employ your own systems and beliefs, to use your mind to shape your current and future health, wellness, and success in life.

Whether you wish to "get in shape," quit a habit such as smoking, relieve pain in your body or mind, develop optimism, relieve stress, or strengthen inner peace, hypnotherapy can be tremendously beneficial for you.

What is Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?

There are many miscomprehensions about hypnosis. Some people are afraid to be hypnotized because they feel they will lose control. The truth is that no one can make you do anything that you don't truly want to do. You will never be "under the control" of a hypnotherapist.

When you experience hypnosis, you become deeply relaxed physically, while mentally many times more alert than in your normal state of awareness. You'll be able to hear, smell, feel, remember, and respond to everything and become an active participant in the therapy. You have tremendous control over what you will, or will not, do.

Hypnosis allows you to connect with your subconscious mind.  As earlier noted, all that you do and feel in the world originates in your subconscious – your behavior patterns, your thought patterns, your beliefs (both limiting and empowering), all reside in your subconscious (or unconscious) mind. You could call this your “programming,” like a computer. Every experience you’ve ever had is stored there and has shaped what’s been programmed, which in turn, affects everything that shows up for you in life, through your behavior - through the patterns and "ways of being" that you have adopted, and adapted, in your life.

When you become aware that there’s something that you want to modify or change, you must shift your belief system in the particular area – that is, you must change your programming (the patterns) at the subconscious level. When the programming is modified, you will naturally shift your behavior, as humans inherently behave (external) in alignment with what they believe (internal).

If one makes changes in the code of a computer program, the way the program operates will be changed in some way - something about its functioning will be different. The challenge is, very few of us know how to change computer code. We've worked with the program in the fashion we've become familiar with, but when we become aware of something that we want to change, or add, or perhaps delete from the program, we're not always sure how to change the internal code affecting that given function. Hypnosis allows access to that internal place where all change is possible, a place where healthy, non-judgmental, and loving feelings are inherent.

Hypnotherapy involves facilitating a trance state – similar to the state when your driving in a car and your mind just wanders, and before you know it 20 miles have gone by – or you seemingly nod off while listening to a boring speaker and aren’t sure whether 2 or 10 minutes just when by. It’s during times like these that the conscious mind begins to relax and the subconscious mind becomes more active – like a sponge - naturally taking in the positive suggestions it hears.
